About the Author
Jean French
Born in Stanhill Village, Lancashire, Jean lived in Kent, Nottinghamshire and Cambridgeshire before moving to the Island in 1975.
Jean met and married her husband, Roger, in 1982 and, after selling their business in 1993, they retired and moved to their villa in the Costa Blanca, Spain, where they lived for 18 years.
Returning to the Island in 2011 to be with their family of five children, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren, with the third being being due that June.
This is what inspired her to write the first in a series of Illustrated children's books about Granny Butterfly (a Red Admiral) and her butterfly friends and family.
My goal from the outset has been to write something that will engage children with the wonderful world of nature that surrounds them every day, and empower them to explore with open minds. I hope that they will read my books and then head out into their garden or out into the countryside with their parents to enjoy the lovely things that nature can offer them.
